I refuse to modify the OEM saddle on my Pulsar 200NS. At least not for the time being. I do take long’ish rides. And I do love travelling with my Pulsar 200NS. And one thing that some experienced riders have advised me is to modify the original seat for more comfort.
Honestly, I cannot think of what I want – do I want a softer or a firmer seat? Do I want it to curve more, or flat it out? Yeah! Yet another weekend ride trip! Tanjung Piai – the “southernmost tip of Mainland Asia”. I was expecting the ride to take about 2 hours (1:40mins when I last “researched” it on Waze), but it took merely just over an hour from the Checkpoint to Tanjung Piai National Park. Decided to swap out the mineral oil in my engine previously used to flush the “teh-tarik treated” engine – coolant mixing with oil. Can’t wait to try this mix in my upcoming weekend trip…
Ironically, with the stock bike, the coolant appeared green and the engine oil looked red’ish. Now, my bike’s coolant is red’ish and the oil is green. Almost looks like I got the 2 liquids mixed up – putting them in the wrong refill orifice.
It was a relaxing Sunday morning ride. At the last Pulsarians makan session, I was chatting with Angad and told him that I would love riding up north but as I’m still considered a “new” rider, would prefer nothing too challenging. So he recommended a quick trip to Renggam via Layang-Layang. According to Waze, it’s only an approximately 1.5hr ride each way. So that’s it! It was planned for the Sunday morning – returning to Singapore just as about the time the Missus and little one get out of bed.

For now, at least, I would ONLY consider donning mesh riding jackets. Leathers are too warm for perpetual-summer Singapore (and our near surroundings), and I have no intentions of tracking, racing, or intentionally doing anything stupid on my bike – again, for now, at least.

It was my first meetup with this fine group last night. Thanks to Mohsen for organising it! The group met at Adam’s Corner @ 452 Serangoon Road. Great turn out and met many new friends. Chatted away with the group of biking fanatics. Many of them have also upgraded from the Pulsars to bigger and meaner machines. But the friendship and bond seem to remain. Angad also inspired me to do the Renggam via the Layang-Layang route. It’s but a mere 1.5hrs from Singapore. Perhaps Sunday breakfast?
Yes! The oil level inspection window is clearing up! This is after 2 oil changes. Also, I noticed that the inspection window tends to clear up after a ride – when the engine is warmed, but will return to fog up again when cooled down. So what I did was to open up the oil fill knob every time I park my bike after a ride. This lets the engine-warmed steam to evaporate out through the oil fill hole.

I rode up to KL and back twice earlier this month. And on both occasions, it rained. No. It poured. But thankfully, in both occasions, it was short bursts of heavenly blessings, and the sky quickly cleared. Possibly just a passing cloud. And when it cleared and as I rode on, the 120kmh wind had a cooling and calming evaporative effect that quickly dried me up. Well, except for my rain water saturated socks.
