SMR – Riding the UCDP “Novice” Trail

We couldn’t get enough of dirt riding fun in Ulu Choh, and so we planned to head back there again. This weekend, we decided to attempt some of the trails instead.

I found a GPX trail in Wikiloc called “UCDP Novice Route”. Novice, right? Should be easy peasy… right? We were so wrong!

The quirky dirt team.

Arriving at Ulu Choh Dirt Park, we were a quirky bunch of riders that somehow look misplaced in a dirt park. Yes, the G650GS and the Yamaha XTZ with knobbies are somewhat at home here. Then there are the heavy adventure bikes – the R1200GSA and the Tiger 800 XCX. The Diversion with its street tires was obviously not the most appropriate machine here. And then there’s the cutesie bunch – the small, ultra-lightweight class – a 36year-old Vespa, a probably about as old Honda C90, and the midget Honda Grom, all gathered for some off-road trail fun. But what all these bikes have in common, is a rider with an adventure spirit and a can-do attitude.

The Cutesie Team – a 1983 Vespa, a Honda C90 Cub, and Grom.
The Diversion that could!

Taking the Little GS on its First Ride Out

It’s the weekend! And it’s time to ride! This was my first ride out with my new-to-me BMW G650GS Sertao. Now, Sertao (or more correctly, Sertão) means “outback” or “wilderness” in Portuguese. And there’s no place the Sertao feels more at home than in the dirt and backroads! Even more so with the brand new Shinko 804/805 40-60 (off-on road) tires fitted!

Stopping for a photo shoot.

The Sertao on familiar ground.

Sunday Morning Dirt Trail Ride

As if last week’s dirt riding with Dirt State wasn’t enough, we headed to the trails again this week. Only this time, with our very own bikes!

Nice, compact dirt – nothing too challenging (for now).

Magnificent view from the top.

Loose gravel + big bike = no fun! =(

Saturday Morning Ride to Endau Rompin

The weather was beautiful on this Saturday morning, and what better way to spend it than to take a ride? It was only the 2 of us on today’s ride, and we could afford to, well, go a little faster on the road. =)

Eddy and his Street Triple.

Me and my red GS.

Sunday Morning Ride – Off-road Fun Near Linggiu

I’ve always loved Sundays – especially Sunday Morning Rides! Today, we explore some of the off-road trails near Linggiu Dam. We last visited Linggiu in April this year and noted some of the nearby trails. They looked interesting enough to make us come back for some Sunday Morning Fun!

I was greeted by an absolutely beautiful morning sky just as I crossed the SG-MY border.

Tackling the trails.

Sunday Morning Ride – Some off-road FUN!

We went for some off-road fun this Sunday Morning Ride!

We ran out of ideas on where to head to for our usual Sunday Morning Ride and this was totally unexpected and unplanned as we wandered randomly and aimlessly. Turned out to be a pleasant surprise!

The SMR off-roaders!
