I’ve been holding out my purchase for a larger bike since I’ve gotten my Class 2A (201cc to 400cc) license in January this year. Well, the initial plan was to wait it out for my Class 2 (>400cc) license before I made the jump up.
However, an impending trip to Thailand with a group of riding friends reignited my itch for a larger capacity touring motorcycle. While I’m pretty happy with the Pulsar, it sometimes just struggles to keep up on the excellent Malaysian North-South highway (NSHW) for longer journeys. So that led me to scouting the local online ads for something larger.
I refuse to modify the OEM saddle on my Pulsar 200NS. At least not for the time being. I do take long’ish rides. And I do love travelling with my Pulsar 200NS. And one thing that some experienced riders have advised me is to modify the original seat for more comfort.
Got a windshield for my 200NS. It goes over the existing (puny) windshield. Tried to install it using the existing 2 bolts on the side of the headlamp unit, but the entire setup felt very flimsy. Was thinking how to secure it and thought that maybe I should secure it to the existing windshield.
So I drilled 3 holes through the plastic and secured the new windshield to the existing one, secured it with some m5 bolts and locknuts (to prevent vibrations from loosening it). The whole new setup just goes onto the bike almost like an OEM setup….
Pretty pleased with my DIY handiwork….
Tested it riding at higher speeds. Definitely helped in reducing wind blast to the chest area.
Now, this definitely compliments my Shad SH48 topbox. Makes the bike look more front-back “balanced”…
